Living in the grace of the matrimony sacrament requires a deep faith and persistence. Everyday life brings many challenges to the spouses and only deep roots in Christ give us a chance for true happiness.
A Polish candidate for beatification, Father Aleksander Zienkiewicz, underlined that “in this world there is no full happiness, there is only partial happiness (…). Also matrimonial happiness is not paradise on earth, as may seem to some” (from the book Sermons and homilies, Kraków 2006). Thanks to the received grace of the sacrament spouses can experience the foretaste of this full happiness of being united with God in the future, as St Paul stated: “Now I know in part; then I shall understand fully, even as I have been fully understood” (1 Cor. 13:12).
