Married couples ought to love each other with a love whose only source is Christ. It is only when they are in a state of sanctifying grace that they will have true love in their hearts.
The Lord God revealed to us that sexual intercourse is reserved only for women and men who have entered into the sacrament of marriage. If the couple are in a state of sanctifying grace, then their physical intimacy becomes a mark of the sacrament of matrimony. Through this holy act, the couple participate in the life and love of God in the Holy Trinity, who can then call a new life into being if he so wishes.
The greatest treasure which a couple can possess is the lasting presence of Jesus Christ in their marriage. Jesus himself said, “What God has joined together, let no one separate.” (Matthew 19:6) For God there is simply no divorce.
Couples ought to love each other with a love whose only source is Christ. They will have true love in their hearts only when they are in a state of sanctifying grace. And this can be attained when they pray everyday, regularly go to confession, and receive Christ in the Eucharist. The Lord Jesus, together with his Mother Mary, and St. Joseph, want to enable couples to experience pure, selfless and mutual love. This is why He wants to heal and free their hearts from egoism and sin.
